Mr. James Adron Robinson

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Village Chapel Funeral Home, 101 Vandell Blvd., Gadsden, for James Adron Robinson, age 97, of Rainbow City, who died Thursday, October 7, 2021. David Manojlovich will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens, 1440 W. Grand Ave., Gadsden, AL 35904. James was born and raised in Snead Alabama, Blount County, in 1924, the second oldest of 7 children, at about 9 years old he started working to help support his large family. He worked in cottonfields, became a brick layer, worked at the steel plant, until he moved to Houston, 1951 for work and picked up the locksmith trade with Cole National, traveling to many states to teach and train others new to the trade, including 4 of his brothers who also moved to Texas from Alabama to take up the locksmith trade. In 1958 He opened Ace Key and Lock in Houston Heights, Texas, and successfully operated that business until he retired back to Gadsden, Alabama in 1991, following the passing of his first wife, Ruby. He married his second wife, Eva, and owned and operated Rainbow Key and Lock in Rainbow City for nearly 10 years. His family and friends loved hearing his many stories of his life experiences growing up in Alabama. Preceded in death by his father, Charlie Robinson, mother, Leona (Holmes) Robinson, First wife of 47 years, Ruby (Lancaster) Robinson, second wife of 23 years, Eva (Calloway) Robinson. Survived by his sister, Eary Sue Williams, brother, Charles Robinson, only child, James “Jimmy” Robinson, Stepson, Roy Calloway. Grandchildren, James, N. Robinson, II, Janell Robinson (Joseph Boehm), Preston “PJ” Robinson. Great-Grandchildren Megahann, Brandon, Jasmine, Isabella, Jason and Carolann. Great-Great Grandchildren Genesis and Naomi. Step-Grandchildren Scott and Sonja Calloway, and Step-Great-Grandchild, Kayla Calloway. Pallbearers will be: Jason Gabryszwski, PJ Robinson, John Parnell, Jessie Whiteside, Ricky Farris, Danny Elkins Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Gadsden Regional, ProHealth Home & Hospice, and Ms. Elaine with Viva Healthcare for their compassionate care and assistance with Mr. Robinson’s medical needs. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
