Mr. Gary Stanfield Sr.

Gary Stanfield Sr., age 83, passed away July 2nd, 2026, peacefully at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, love, and service at others. Gary was born on March 21st, 1943, in Etowah County, Alabama, to the late L.D. Stanfield and Stella Mae Stanfield. He lived a life rooted in Christian values, devotion to his family, and a steadfast commitment to sharing the Gospel. Gary was the beloved husband of Patricia Stanfield, and together the shared 65 years of marriage built on love, faith, and commitment. He was devoted husband who loved Patricia with all his heart and faithfully cared for her throughout their life together. To his family he was the very best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could have asked for. He was a loving father to Gary B. Standfield Jr. and Bryan Stanfield (wife Tina). He was proud and devoted grandfather to Trey Stanfield, Amanda Stanfield, Chrisitan Stanfield, Seth Stanfield (wife Aleesha), Emily Williams, Zachary Williams (wife Karley), Isaac Standfield, Tristin Hall, and Logan Williams Standfield. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Gary is survived by his brother, James L. Stanfield (Mona), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Stella Mae Standfield, and his sisters, Sandra Garrett and Phyllis McCullars. Gary retired after a dedicated career with Goodyear. While he faithfully served in his profession, his greatest calling was serving the Lord. For more than 50 years, he faithfully ministered within the Church of Christ, dedicating his life to studying God’s Word, preaching the Gospel, and encouraging others to grow in their faith. Gary will be remembered as a loving, kind, humble, and compassionate man. He never met a stranger and always had time to encourage, pray with, or help someone in need. His greatest joy came from serving God, and loving his family. Although his family deeply mourns his passing, they rejoice in knowing he has received his eternal home. His legacy of faith and love will continue through all who knew him. “Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of the Lord.” Matthew 25:23 A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at 3 o'clock PM at Memory Hill in Albertville, AL with a visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 6 o'clock PM to 8 o'clock PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to Antioch Church of Christ and Collinsville Church of Christ.
