Mr. Wilburn "W.L." Whisenant

Funeral will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 23rd, 2018, at The Tabernacle Church for Wilburn “W.L.” Whisenant, 79, Gadsden, who died Friday, December 21st, 2018. Chaplain Joel Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. W.L. was a lifelong Alabama fan. He retired from Goodyear after 31 years. He loved spending time with his family and was loving and kind to so many. Mr. Whisenant was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Oma Lee; brother, Kenneth; and grandson, Dallas McCulley. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Whisenant; sons, Michael (Lacrecia), Allen (Liz), and Charles (Kelly); grandchildren, Nathan (Becca), Chris (Kelli), Amber (Jake), Cyndi (Dallas), Evan, Mark, Austin (Amanda), Sean, Ethan, and Insley; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Kole; brother, Randall (Lynn); and sister, Aleene. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice; especially nurse Luke Small. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of the service Sunday at The Tabernacle Church.
