Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Village Chapel for Vickie Lynn Dawson, 66, of Attalla, who died Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Revs. Terry and Larry Alderson will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Vickie, along with her husband Bobby, was the owner of B&L Taxi Cab Company. She also worked for Mildred’s Restaurant and Carnes Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dawson; mother, Martha Carroll; sister, Kathy Hunter; and loved ones who were dear to her, Jackie Zelsdorf and Kay Simmons. Vickie is survived by her daughter, Misty (Calvert) Turner; son, Paul Scott Dawson; grandchildren, Jayla Johnson, Chris Dawson, and Justin Gattis; siblings, Carla Herren, Laura King, Chris (Sonia) Carroll, Craig (Kristina) Carroll, and Heather (Shane) Clifton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, especially Dana, Shirley, and Emily; and also to Dr. Straughn at UAB. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022.
