Mr. Lane Autwell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Freedom Church for Lane Autwell, 34, of Gadsden, who died Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Reverends Bruce Word, Steven Brewster, and Jason Payton will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Lane was an avid Alabama football fan. He had a special love for his dog, Bama. He had a heart of gold, never met a stranger, and everyone who knew him loved him. He was a loving father, son, fiancé, and friend, and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eschol and Elizabeth Mayo, Larry Autwell; aunts, Judy Smothers and Elizabeth Duncan; and chosen grandmother, Barbara Campbell. Lane is survived by his son, Hunter Kurpakus; mother, Sheila (Wayne) Holloway; father, Tim (Pam) Autwell; fiancé, Nici Parks; grandmother, Ruth Autwell; step-brothers, Aaron Champion and Joseph Holloway; step-sisters, Casey Champion, Teresa Morris, and Sonya Holloway; aunts, Susan Ragan and Mary (Michael) Brothers; uncles, Terry (Donna) Mayo, Wayne (Judy) Autwell, Greg Smothers; chosen brothers, Dewayne Mayo and Jason Payton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks to Freedom Church, Cornerstone Church, and all family and friends for the love shown to the Autwell family during this difficult time. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at Freedom Church.
