Mr. Jerry Pitts
June 1, 1947 - June 28, 2021
Jerry Pitts, 74, of Southside, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 28, 2021. Jerry was a Godly man, and above all other things he loved the Lord. He attended Green Valley Congregational Holiness Church. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that was dedicated to his family. He was a 1965 graduate of Clay County High School, and he retired from Bridgestone Tire. Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lee Pitts; sister, Sandra Walden; brother, Donald Wayne Pitts; and brother-in-law, Jack B. Walden Jr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sherry Pitts; daughters, Kim Smith and Melissa Pitts; grandchildren, Michael “Mikey” Green, Katie Smith, and Dani Smith; mother, Dorothy Fay Pitts; brother, Charles (Sheila) Pitts; sister, Glenda Pitts Love; and a host of extended family. Special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, and also to the Green Valley Congregational Holiness Church and New Seasons Assembly of God for all the love and prayers.
