Mr. J. D. Pruitt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Village Chapel for J.D. Pruitt, 83, of Gadsden, who died Sunday, September 19, 2021. Rev. Rickie Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. J.D. loved the Lord, and he served as a pastor for several years at a few different local churches. He was a faithful member of Lebanon Church of Christ. J.D. was a fun-loving man, and he loved to joke. He was a loving husband, father, granddaddy, uncle, brother, and friend, and he will be greatly missed. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Delia Pruitt; sisters, Mary Tucker, Opal Money, and Jimmie Brown; and son, Greg Parker. J.D. is survived by his wife, Karin Pruitt; daughters, Sandra (Larry) Duncan, Lori Walters Williams, and Donna (Robbie) Vaughn; grandchildren, Joy Mize and Amy Ellis; great-grandchildren, Grant Mize, Caden Hill, Ethan Ellis, and Dylan Ellis; sister, Betty (Freedale) LeMaster; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Rickie Williams, Robbie Vaughn, Grant Mize, Greg Edwards, Lewayne Goodwin, and Michael Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are Caden Hill, Ethan Ellis, and Dylan Ellis. Special thanks to Min. Gary McCurdy. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at Village Chapel.
