Mr. Bob Deweese

December 11, 1933 - September 9, 2021

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Village Chapel for Bob Deweese, 87, of Steele, who died Thursday, September 9, 2021. Rev. Carl Pierce will officiate. Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Bob loved riding horses, and he won a lot of awards while doing that. He also enjoyed truck driving. He farmed for many years, and liked growing tomatoes. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church, Gallant. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jimmie Deweese; brothers, Leon and Kenneth Deweese; and sisters, Betty Gilliland and Nell Jo Brogdon. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha Deweese; sons, Merle (Darlene) Deweese and Gerald (Denise) Deweese; grandchildren, Nick (Joanna) Deweese, Keisha (Steve) McAnnally, Russell Deweese, Shanda (Jamaar) Beavers, and Justin Thompson; great-grandchildren, Hannah Deweese, Hailey Deweese, Elizabeth (Skylar) Tolbert, Rebecca (Ragan) Ashley, Kelsey Phillips, and Jeremiah Phillips; and great-great-grandchhildren, Caroline and Piper Tolbert. Pallbearers will be Nick Deweese, Russell Deweese, Steve McAnnally, Johnny Brothers, Chris James, and Randy Gilliland. Special thanks to neighbors and close friends, Randy and Kathy Rhodes; and also to chosen daughters, Brenda Deal and Linda Parrish. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at Village Chapel.
