Mrs. Betty Ann Byrum Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Village Chapel for Betty Ann Byrum, 89, Gadsden, who died Saturday, June 6, 2020. Rev. D. Jack Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Betty was born and raised in Attalla, AL, and she was a 1949 graduate of Etowah High School. She worked for over 30 years at Kmart, where she made many friends during her time there. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Byrum; son-in-law, Zane Kennedy; mother, Frances Elizabeth Yates Bruce; grandmother, Edith “Mimi” Yates; brother, Donnie Bruce; and sisters, Eileen Beck, Janet Martin, Lola Talley, and Cappy Mardis. Mrs. Byrum is survived by her children, David (Roberta) Byrum, Donna Kennedy, and Bruce (Brandy) Byrum; grandchildren, Laura (Sam) Patel, Michael (Steven) Byrum-Bratsen, Chad (Charity) Robinson, Gena (Jason) Roberts, Trae (Amber) Elrod, Rachel Elrod, and Payton Byrum; great-grandchildren, Logan Patel, Ethan Patel, Tristan Patel, Mason Robinson, Jeremiah Roberts, Katlyn Roberts, Dalton Wise, Jamison Wise, and Haven Wise; special grandchild, Jayden Byrum; brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Bruce, Sr.; brother-in-law, Homer Talley; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Derrick Sherrell, Chad Robinson, Mason Robinson, Payton Byrum, Jason Roberts, and Trae Elrod. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alabama City United Methodist Church. Special thanks to Brittany and the staff of Encompass Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Village Chapel.
