Mr. Timothy Lewis "Hub" Hubbard

Timothy Lewis "Hub" Hubbard, age 64, of Walnut Grove, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving sons, daughters-in-law, and nephew. Born October 4, 1961, he was the son of Kenneth and Louise Hubbard. He attended Sardis High School and later married Sharon Louise Thrasher; together they shared two sons. Hub was a lifelong tradesman, spending the bulk of his years in home construction, and later pivoted to the manufactured housing industry. He was widely respected for his remarkable ability to repair nearly any problem that arose during the transportation and setup of a home. Just as importantly, he had a unique talent for putting people at ease. Whether he was solving a difficult repair or calming the concerns of a frustrated homeowner, Hub had a way of making friends wherever he went. Hub never met a stranger. He loved talking with people, and was rarely far from a ringing phone or a familiar face. He loved the thrill of making a good deal, hunting for treasures at bin stores, collecting coins, and sharing the skills he had gained through a lifetime of hard work. He was always eager to teach others the value of doing a job right, mentoring many throughout his community. He was a true jack of all trades. Above all, Hub was devoted to his family. After the loss of his wife, Sharon (2000), he lovingly raised their two teenage sons, always putting them first. His greatest joy was being a grandfather to his four grandsons. He never missed an opportunity to make them smile by sharing a little spending money, a favorite treat, or producing a small toy he kept tucked in his pocket. They were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Hubbard; his father, Kenneth Hubbard; his sister, Kenya Shirley (Wayne); and his brother-in-law, Jerry Holland. He is survived by his mother, Louise Hubbard; his sons, Scotty Lewis Hubbard (Kelli), and Timothy Wayne Hubbard (Jessica); his grandsons, Harrison, Samuel, Owen, and Lincoln; his sisters, Jan Holland, Wanda Boutwell (Roy), Lisa Turner (Al), and Teresa McCormick (Nick); his brother, Denny Hubbard (Carla); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of St. Vincent's East’s 6th Floor, Shepherd's Cove Hospice, and Hub's beloved nephew, Josh Washburn, whose love, care, and unwavering support brought comfort to Hub and his sons during his final days. The family of Tim Hubbard will be received for visitation at Village Chapel Funeral Home in Gadsden on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026 at 11:30 AM; friends will be welcomed from 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altoona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd's Cove Hospice or the American Cancer Society in Hub's memory.
