Mrs. Sharon Lancaster

Funeral services for Sharon Lancaster, age 70, will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama. Tommy Marshall will officiate the service. There will be no graveside service. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by visitation for friends at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon. Sharon was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose kindness touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to brighten every room she entered. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and genuine love for others made her beloved by family, friends, and all who knew her. During her working years, Sharon was employed at a local thrift store and later at the Gadsden State Cafeteria, where she was known for her dedication and friendly personality. She found joy in serving others and built many lasting friendships throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gladys Barnard; brothers, S.G. Barnard, R.C. Barnard, James Barnard, and Tom Barnard; sisters, Juanita Lankford, Evelyn Terry, Rosie Gables, and Julie Bellew; and brothers-in-law, Scott Tilley and Gerald Lancaster. Sharon is survived by her son, Jason Lancaster and wife, Brittany Tibbitt; her pride and joy, granddaughter Lilliana Lancaster; brother, Verbon Barnard; sister, Glenda Jacobs; brother-in-law, Michael Lancaster and wife, Misty Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Kellie Tilley and Denise Lancaster; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Pallbearers will be Tony Lancaster, Clay Lancaster, Clint Stephens, Keith Mayben, Shannon Tibbitt, and Sebastian Francisco. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Brittany Tibbitt for the exceptional love, care, and devotion she gave to Sharon. Special thanks are also extended to nieces Kim and Jennifer Wilkerson and Rosie (Sebastian) Francisco; nephew Tony Lancaster for always being there whenever she was needed; Tyler Tibbitt for faithfully checking on her; Renee and the staff at DaVita Dialysis; and Dr. Virenjan Narayan for the compassion and care he provided while always treating Sharon like family. Sharon’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
