Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024, at Village Chapel for Rosie Annie Gables, 83, of Gadsden, who died Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Pastor Tommy Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Rosie Annie Gables born on Wednesday May 1st, 1940 to Loyd and Gladys Barnard in Marshall County, Alabama, she was 1 of 13 children. She had 5 children of her own and 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was a Southern Baptist. She was a diehard Auburn football fan her whole life. She loved to BBQ with her family in the backyard and garden every summer. She loved to watch the hummingbirds in her backyard on her feeders. She worked her whole life till she was 62 years old when she decided to retire to spend the rest of her life being with her son/ best friend and caregiver, William Gables, for 58 years till her last days with us. She is preceded in death by parents, Loyd and Gladys Barnard; sisters, Marie (Charlie) Reels, Juanita (Cecil) Lankford, Julie (Sonny) Bellew, Evelyn (T) Terry; brothers, RC Barnard, James Barnard, SG(Thelma) Barnard, Tom Barnard; grandchildren, Josh Butler; and great grandchildren, Corbin Mayben, Ariyona Daniels, Anna-Kate Gables. She is survived by siblings, Glenda (Jake) Jacobs, Sharon (Archie) Lancaster, Verbon Barnard, Junior (Betty) Barnard; children, Jimmie (Libby) Gables, William Gables, Rosie (Sebastion) Francisco, Allen (Nancy) Gables, Patsy (Brian) Ross, Lisa Baker; grandchildren, Christina (Avery) Gables, Jimmie Lee Gables, Brandon (Katlyn) Gables, Vincent “Bird” (Samantha) Mayben, Keith ( Erin) Mayben, Jason (Brittany) Lancaster, Suzanne (Josh) Daniels, Brittany (Dustin) Bishop, Victoria (Cameron) McDonald, Holly Butler, Heather (Brent) Bishop, Ashley (Nate) Boswell, Josh Andriacco; great grandchildren, Hunter Mayben, Carlene Baker, Bentlee and Crimson Gables, Ryley and Luke Bishop, Isabell and Jackson Mayben, Parker and Kaden Mayben, Lilliana Lancaster, Josh Butler Jr., Robert Baxter, Layla and Jasmine and Emma Boswell, Amethyst and Ares Cameron, Kinley Daniels, Baby Gables; and countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers are Vincent “Bird” Mayben, Keith Mayben, Jason Lancaster, Jimmie Lee Gables, Brandon Gables, and Hunter Mayben. We would like to thank Adoration hospice for helping in her time of need, especially her nurse Morgan Justus and her aid Lisa Glass, for the love, support and service. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Friday.
