Mr. Ravis Dewayne Terry

Mr. Ravis Dewayne Terry passed away comfortably at his home in Gadsden, AL on March 30, 2015 at 8:07 pm at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Ravis was predeceased in death by his father, Robert E Terry; mother, Laura Costner; and brother, Jerry Terry. Ravis is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Mrs. Cynthia Jo Terry; his son, Mr. Jason Terry, BS, CDM, CFPP of Hattiesburg, MS.; his daughters, Mrs. Bobbie Jean (Russell) Owens, Mrs. Gina (Brandon) Hannah, Ms. Michelle (Rodney) Hodge, Ms. Angela (Maggie) Garrison, Mrs. Dee Dee (Jeff) Meyer, all from Gadsden, Alabama. They were married on horseback at Bynum Stockyard in Attalla, Alabama on November 16, 2001. Grand Children: Mr. Sean Davis Patton, Ms. Kayla Elizabeth Patton, Mr. Brandon Hodge, Mr. Zack Garrison, Alex Moon, Jozie Moon, Kariah Moon, Justin Moon, Bailey Hannah, Nick Hannah, Anna Hannah, Jayce Hannah, Shanea Garrison, Mitchell Meyer, Jackie Meyer. Great Grand Children: Amiya Garrison, Brylan Ghilcrist, AXL Moon, Kaden Moon, Kane Moon, Willow Moon, Tori Moon. Sisters: Mrs. Joyce (Nathan) Robinson, Mrs. Gaynell (Bobby) Cooper, Mrs. Sherry (Hugh) Cox, Ms. Cathy Bishop, Mrs. Theresa McCall, Mrs. Bobbie Jo Arocho. Brothers: Mr. Gary (Sarah) Terry, Mr. Robert (Pat) Terry, Mr. Junior (Lisa) Terry. A host of nephews and nieces Ravis’s nephews will serve as pallbearers, and include Mr. Danny Terry, Mr. Michael Terry, Mr. Andy Terry, Mr. Jimmy Terry, Mr. Robbie Terry, and Mr. Chris Terry. Honorary friends include Mr. Joe Gamberi & Dr. Michael Naughton, Mr. Shane Garrison Ravis was the Owner of Terry Construction Company, and a self-employed contractor for many unique jobs during his life. Ravis enjoyed racing race cars, horseback riding, camping, boating, kayaking, fishing, and had a general passion for buying any type gadget/outdoor toy that made his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren happy. He also was known to family and friends to be the handyman for general home repairs. In addition, Ravis took great joy in being “right” in every situation, he was a Pepsi Cola fanatic, Jerry Springer Buff, and secretly a consultant/cake consumer for The Little Debbie Corporation. The visitation will be held at Village Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 5pm for family and at 6-8pm for friends. The Family will have a celebration dinner at Ravis’s homestead, located at 1790 Lake Mary Louise Rd Gadsden, AL 35904, immediately following the service to celebrate the many amazing moments of his life.
