Randy Snell

Randy Snell (63), who was known for his generous heart, infectious laughter, and love for the Alabama Crimson Tide, but more than anything, for his love of Jesus Christ, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Randy was born on May 28, 1961, and graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1979. He served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1985. During his service, Randy received the Army Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He coached football, basketball, and softball in the Army, winning championships in each sport. Randy was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline, for 36 years. He was deeply devoted to his family, faith, and service to others. He was known for his tagline, “It’s all about Jesus.” Randy worked at several places throughout his life. The most significant places of employment were Jack’s, Gadsden Job Corps, Butler Electric, and Carey’s Heating and Cooling. He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church and served the community through personal means, various churches, and organizations. Randy is preceded in death by his chosen mother Anne Butler, niece Allison Townsel, and great-nephew John Sheridan.His chosen father, Harry Butler, went home to be with his Lord and Savior just four days after Randy’s passing. He is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline Snell; daughters Melissa (Jamie) Holt and Mallorie (Cody) Belyeu; chosen daughter M’Kaila Lowe; brothers Jimmy Dale (Barbra) Snell, Jerry Cash, and David Motes; sister-in-law Julia Owens, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Rylan, and Brylee Holt, and Oliver and Aiden Belyeu; nieces Brittany Townsel and Amanda Snell; nephews Jason (Tori) Snell and Justin (Nikki) Snell; great nieces and nephews Mary and Caitie Dillinger, Haley (Malachi) Bollman, Maci Robertson, Jake Snell, and Kinley, Carter, and Easton Snell; mother-in-law Carolyn Owens; and chosen family members Sydney Gunter, Laurie Mayben, Mack Butler, and Debbie Pope. The family will receive friends at Village Chapel Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Reverend James O. Wallace will officiate. The burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie and Rylan Holt, Cody and Oliver Belyeu, Vincent Cardwell, Jeremiah Johns, Zack Haney, and Dexter and Jaxon Hanson.
