Pamela Lynn (Oliver) Findley

Pamela Lynn (Oliver) Findley, 76, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at her home with her husband, Wayne Findley, and daughter, Ashley Findley Douthard, by her side. Services will be Saturday, June 21, 2025, at MeadowBrook Church, Gadsden, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM with the service following at 3:00 PM. Pam was born on May 29, 1949, in Gadsden, Alabama. She grew up in the North Gadsden area which she loved. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of James Memorial Baptist Church. After she was married, Pam became a member of MeadowBrook Church where she was a faithful member and taught Sunday School, GA’s and VBS until her illness prevented her from doing so. She was received into the arms of Jesus by her parents, Marvin L. “Buck” and Ivilene Y. Oliver; her brother, Larry Oliver and his wife, Glenda; parents-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Findley; and sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Bobby Gilbert. Before her illness, Pam loved life and was always up for fun activities. She enjoyed going to the beach and to the mountains, but above all things she loved the Lord and her family. Pam attended schools in Gadsden and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1967 where she was a varsity cheerleader, class beauty and was chosen as the ’66-’67 Homecoming Queen. After graduating from Jacksonville State University with a M.S. degree, she taught 5th and 6th graders for five years at West End Elementary and then taught 2nd grade at John S. Jones Elementary where she retired after 25 years. Pam loved children and teaching was a true calling of the Lord on her life. Pam is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Findley; her daughter, Ashley (Jon) Douthard; her granddaughters, Millicent and Megan Douthard, who were the pride and joy of her life. They could brighten up her day like no one else! She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Rick (Debbie) Findley; nieces, Mandi (Scott) Parker, Moni (Daniel Womack) Oliver, Alicen (Stuart) Fowler, Jenny (Trent) Thrasher, Lisa Delotius; nephews, Keith Gilbert and Brian (Jennifer) Osborn; as well as a host of cousins and great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or to MeadowBrook Church (2525 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901). To the nurses at Riverview Regional Medical Center who not only cared for her, but became her close friends, thank you for your care and love! A special thanks also to Aveanna Hospice and the nurses who looked after her to the end.
