James "Dylan" Bartlett

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Sunday, February 25th, 2024, at Village Chapel for James “Dylan” Bartlett, age 21, from Attalla, who died Sunday, February 18th, 2024. Chance Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be at Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery, Collinsville. "Forever Young": Dylan will forever be known as the spunky, fearless, and sometimes arrogant jokester that kept his family and friends on their toes. He grew up in Attalla Alabama with his mom and dad, two brothers and countless other family and friends. He graduated from Etowah High School where he excelled in football, baseball and basketball. His true passion was fishing, music, cars, and his family. As a self proclaimed "mama's boy" his love of family was evident in the way he played pranks and jokes on his brothers and those friends he considered to be family. Any day that included his brothers was a great day for Dylan, from fishing in the pond, to deep sea fishing, to rebuilding cars, or just playing video games, was a win in his book. His greatest joy and accomplishment was the birth of his daughter 'Liv". He loved her with his whole heart and knew he would always protect and provide for her. With the love of family and friends she will know her Dad and undoubtedly share some of his jovial personality traits. At just 21, after a brief illness that tragically took his life, he left us way too soon and will leave a dramatic hole in the hearts of all who loved him. May you rest easy Dylan, until we see you again. He is preceded in death by pawpaw, James “Big Jimmy” Bartlett; pop, William Bartlett; nana, Dorothy Wilson; papaw, Thomas Wilson; granddaddy, Doc Eason. He is survived by daughter, Liv Everlynn Bartlett; momma, Faith Bartlett; dad, Jimmy and Kristian Bartlett; granny, Barbara Eason; grandparents, Greg and Carla Wilson, Carol and Ken Gray, Ivan and Phyllis Meeks; brothers, Jacob Bartlett, Nickolas Bartlett, Landon Bartlett, Evan Martinez; sister, Carmen Martinez; mother of his daughter, Paige Cashman; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Nickolas Bartlett, Micah (Seth) Ables, Josh Hawkins, Dakota Elkins, Taylor Berry, and Hank Hayden. Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Bolt, and David Eason. Special thanks to everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be at Village Chapel Funeral Home from 1-3pm Sunday, February 25th, 2024.
