Mrs. Gloria Morris Lindsey

Gloria Morris Lindsey, 80, of Gadsden, Alabama, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 5, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Adelle Morris, her Grandmother, Hester Lee Cahela, her Step-Father, Daniel Joseph Morris, and Step-Siblings, Don Morris, Claudia Morris Holderfield, and Frankie Morris England. Gloria was the beloved wife of Thomas Lindsey, and together they built a life and home rooted in unwavering faith, enduring love, and devotion to family. She was a devoted and nurturing mother to Brandon Lindsey (Holly Lindsey), Karon Lindsey Sullivan (Chris Sullivan), and Matthew Lindsey (Heather Lindsey). She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Kaylee Lindsey McGowan (Coley McGowan), Kendall Lindsey, Ryan Sullivan, Josh Kimbril, Lindsey Kimbril, Brandon Sullivan, Chloe Lindsey, and Adelyn Lindsey, and a treasured great-grandmother to Ridge, Reece, and River McGowan. Her family was the joy of her heart and the center of her world. She delighted in every moment spent with them, cherishing their laughter, milestones, and togetherness. She also held a special affection for her sweet rescue dog, Josey, who brought her daily companionship, comfort, and joy. A graduate of Etowah High School, Class of 1964, Gloria proudly participated as a majorette with the Blue Devils Band. She married the love of her life in September of the same year. She later devoted over 25 years of her career working as a medical transcriptionist. Gloria’s life was marked by a deep and abiding desire to serve others. For many years, she faithfully volunteered as a counselor with the Etowah Pregnancy Testing Center, an organization that continued to remain near and dear to her heart. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Lookout Mountain Community Center, extending her heart for service into the broader community. A devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church, Gloria lived her faith with sincerity and joy. She taught a women’s Sunday School class, participated in Bible studies and prayer groups, and joyfully served in Vacation Bible School year after year. She especially treasured the annual Women of Joy conference, where she shared fellowship, worship, and encouragement with her dear friends. She enjoyed reading Christian novels, spending time in God’s Word, and lifting others up through writing notes of encouragement. Gloria possessed a rare and beautiful gift for making others feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Whether through a thoughtful phone call, a timely prayer, or a word spoken in season, she ministered to countless others through her steady presence and unwavering faith. Those who knew Gloria will remember her as a woman of profound faith and extraordinary kindness. She loved with a generous heart and was quick to offer compassion, encouragement, and care to others. Her life was a living testimony of Christ’s love, expressed through simple yet powerful acts of service, hospitality, and grace. Her family finds comfort in the promise that she has been welcomed into the presence of her Savior with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, and selfless devotion will continue to shine brightly in all who were blessed to know her.
