Mr. Carson Lee Miller

Carson Lee Miller, 85, went home to be with the Lord and his wife on Sunday, May 20, 2022. He attended Etowah High School in Attalla, AL. He was presently retired, but had worked for Ira Philips Company, owned and operated Whorton Bend Grocery, worked many years in the food distribution industry and Tire Tech. He was a member of New Bethel Church of Christ in Hanceville, AL. Mr Miller was better known as Lee Miller and loved gardening and being surrounded by friends and family. He was presently the minister of New Bethel Church of Christ. He spent all of his life in Gadsden, but moved to Hanceville approximately four years ago to help with this church and be closer to his brother, Hoyt Miller, of Arab. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Garmon Miller; parents, Carson C. Miller and Kate Murphy Miller; brothers, Ralph Miller, Paul Miller, Hoyt Miller; sisters, Lillian Miller McKenzie, Jewel Miller Foster, and Martha Miller Ellison. He is survived by his brother, Hugh Miller of Greenwood, Arkansas. Mr. Miller loved studying the bible and teaching others God's Word. He loved being around people and encouraging and helping them when needed. He was a devoted husband, uncle, and wonderful friend to many in his community while displaying a great sense of humor and joyous laugh. Lee enjoyed spending time with his nephews, Clay Gardner, Michael Gardner, and niece, D.J. Belleny when they were growing up. Pallbearers will be Phil Miller, Greg Ellison, Clint Ellison, Brent Ellison, Carson Miller, Mike Miller, Richie Long, and Braxton Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Miller, Glen Walker, Tony Foster, Danny Foster, Leon Miller, Gene Barfield, J.D. Nash, David Burnham, Clay Gardner, and Michael Gardner. Special thanks to employees of Marshall Medical Center North, Encompass Rehab, Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Noland Hospital, and friends Martha and Wayne Robertson. Special love and appreciation to a wonderful sitter, Mary Wyatt. The family requests no flowers. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, at Old Harmony Cemetery, Rainbow City. J.D. Nash and Gene Barfield will officiate.
