Theresa "Terri" Jo Elkins

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at Village Chapel for Theresa “Terri” Jo Elkins, 64, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, surrounded by her family. Brother Michael Heath will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Elkins was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Whiting, Indiana until she moved to Gadsden at the age of 17. She worked most of her life at Delphi Products and Choice Fabrication until she was unable to work any further. She was a selfless woman with a huge heart and kind soul. To know her was to love her. She spent her time with family, attending auctions, traveling, and watching The Golden Girls and Reba. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny J. Elkins; father, Kinthrell L. Jones; mother-in-law, Mildred Elkins; chosen parents, Cris (Jr.) and Faye Helms; chosen sister, Donna Spinks; and niece, Lori Heath-Collier. Terri is survived by her daughters, Brooke Elkins, Tonya (Devin) Mass, and Jessica Helms (Carley Harp); sisters, Kellie Jones-Sulski and Dana Jones-Rueckheim (Roy); chosen sister, Rhonda (James) Heath; sister-in-law, Teresa Elkins; chosen brothers, Tim (Terri) Helms and Mark Sulski; grandchildren, Shaelah Sherrill, Jamie Elkins, and Brodi Mass; chosen daughters and grandchildren, Kim Cothran and Beth Powers (Tilijah, Jaylyn, Messiah, and Damoni); nieces, Amanda (Dylan) McKee and Michelle (Jason) Thomason; nephews, Jamie (Jill) Jones, Cory (Vicki) Rattray, Chris (Jessica) Helms, Shawn (Neisee) Spinks, Michael (Laura) Heath, Shannon Spinks, Hunter (Mackenzie) Sulski and Cameron Sulski; several great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Shak’ari Patterson and Ariel Byrd; her loving companion, Mia; and chosen fur-baby, Jolene Mae. Pallbearers will be Dylon Mass, Steve Woodward, Trey Calloway, Jody Spinks, Bradley Boyle, Michael Heath, Tyiler Sims, and Rodney McCoy. Honorary pallbearers are Shae Sherrill, Bobby Oliver, and Anthony Helms. Special thanks to her daughter, Brooke Elkins, who has been Terri’s primary caretaker for the past few years. We can never thank you enough for the love, compassion, and care you gave. Also special thanks to Riverview 3rd floor step-down nurses Erica and Ashley, Enhabit Home Health, Rehab, and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Friday.
